Divorce, Talaq and Khula Services
A separation enquiry should identify the marriage record, the parties’ locations and the route being considered. Talaq, delegated divorce, Khula and dissolution on statutory grounds are distinct legal questions. Financial claims and children’s arrangements need their own instructions rather than an assumption that ending the marriage settles every issue.
Child Custody, Guardianship and Visitation
Custody concerns practical care and residence, while guardianship may concern legal authority or a particular act. A useful first consultation considers the child’s welfare, ordinary residence, schooling and existing orders. Prepare a practical proposal for care and contact and disclose foreign proceedings or proposed travel where relevant.
Maintenance, Dower and Personal Property
A support claim, the agreed dower and an inventory of personal belongings are different records. Identify the period claimed, amounts paid, terms of the marriage contract and evidence supporting the request. Avoid a single combined demand that does not explain how each claimed amount or item arises.
Marriage Records and Overseas Family Services
A Nikah Nama, computerised MRC, certified decree and local divorce certificate serve distinct purposes. Identify what the receiving institution needs and the competent authority holding the underlying record. For overseas instructions, authority documents, participation and foreign recognition should be assessed for the particular step.
Property and Inheritance Connections
A family dispute may also involve inherited property, partition, ownership records or succession documentation. These questions require their own title and relationship evidence and may involve a different forum. Explain the connection before combining property work with a matrimonial engagement or signing a broad family settlement.
Litigation, Consultation and the Professional Engagement
The appropriate work may be advice, drafting, negotiation, a fresh suit, a response, appeal or execution. Provide complete previous orders and the next hearing date. Confirm the handling advocate, fee scope and expenses before instructing the practice; an enquiry does not itself accept the case or guarantee a court outcome.
